#BREAKING#ShakeItUp: Kanye West has sold more albums in the US than any artist in history and his debut album, “Yeezus,” has now topped the Billboard album charts.
According to Nielsen Music, “Shake it Up” has sold 2.5 million albums in America so far.
On the charts, the album has moved into #1 at #8, #9 and #10.
The song, which has been the most streamed song on the internet, is #1 in its first week of availability, according to Nielsen.
This is the third album to take #1.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of all time based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums(SEA).
Itunes digital sales account for 85% of the total.
The Billboard Hot 100, which measures sales in equivalent units (including track equivalent), includes all albums and includes a brand new weeklong chart that was announced on Thursday (Aug. 25).
On this week’s chart, Kanye West takes #1 with his debut “Yeezy Season 2” album.
He also moves into the top 5 on the RIAA Hot 100 Digital Songs chart.
Kanye West also moves to #1 for the first time on the Billboard 200 with his new single “Famous,” which debuted at #2.
It is his most successful single to date.
He joins Justin Bieber, Adele, Beyonce and Ariana Grande on the chart.
In the top 10 on the Hot 100 on Aug. 25, Kanye joins Adele (3), Rihanna (3) and Beyonce (2).
On the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, “Fame” moves to the top slot after two weeks at #1 and is up to #2 on Streaming Songs.
The song also makes the Hot R&b/Hits chart for the second week in a row, as it tops the Hot Country Songs chart for a fourth week in row.
In the RDA chart, the song is up a single to #8 after two week at #7.
The track also makes its Hot R+B/Hard Rock Songs chart debut.
“Fame,” which features Yeezy on vocals and guest vocals by Drake, is also one of only two albums to have debuted on Hot ROTY this year.
It was released in July and has sold over 6 million copies.
While “Fancy,” the ROTW album that debuted at number three, was released last week, it is still one of the most-streamed songs in the United States, according of Nielsen Music.
During his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Kanye West also debuted “Hail Mary,” the song that landed at number six on the Radio Songs chart on Aug, 25, just days after its release.
